What we do · Managed IT

IT support and managed IT for accountancy & tax firms.

We run your practice’s IT end to end, from everyday IT support to identity, devices, email and security, set up to the Cyber Essentials controls and looked after by someone who knows how you work. When something needs fixing, you speak to the person who set it up.

What’s included

Everything your practice runs on, looked after properly.

Security
Protection across devices, accounts, email and the web, plus SPF, DKIM and DMARC so it’s much harder for anyone to send email pretending to be your firm.
Identity and access
Single sign-on, MFA on every account and conditional access through Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, so you control who gets into what, and from which devices.
Devices
Laptops and phones managed centrally, and cloud desktops where someone needs the same desktop from anywhere.
Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
Email, files, calendars and meetings, set up and secured properly, with business phone calling where you need it.
Password management
A business password manager for everyone, with policies enforced and shared credentials kept out of spreadsheets and inboxes.
Practice software
CCH, IRIS, TaxCalc, Adobe Acrobat Pro and the rest of your stack: licensing, deployment and support. You run the software; we keep it working.
Hardware
Laptops, phones and other kit sourced through our reseller relationships, set up and managed from the day it arrives.
Advice, included
Ongoing reviews of your setup and what to do next, as part of the service rather than billed separately.

The baseline

New clients start from the same secure setup.

Microsoft 365 with its advanced security features, dedicated work devices and the Cyber Essentials controls. Starting from a known setup is what lets us look after it properly, and it means your security doesn’t depend on what someone remembered to configure years ago.

If you’re a new or growing practice, this is the moment to get it right. A setup built well at five people is cheaper and safer to run at fifty than one that grew by accident.

Why firms move to us

An IT partner, not a ticket queue.

Direct access
The person who manages your IT is the person you speak to. No call centre, and no one new every time.
We know your firm
Your environment, your people and how your team works, not a standard runbook applied the same way to every client.
We know the sector
CCH, IRIS, TaxCalc, the run-up to 31st January, and what’s expected when you hold client tax data. Disruptive changes are planned around your busy season, not into it.
Secure by default
We’re Cyber Essentials certified ourselves and building towards ISO 27001. Security is how every setup starts, not an upsell.

“The JDLT team are very easy to work with and provide an outstanding service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”

Questions

Common questions

What exactly is covered?

Everything above, item by item, along with how support works and what we quote for separately.

See the full list
What are your support hours?

UK business hours, Monday to Friday. There is no out-of-hours cover as standard, though it can be arranged in exceptional circumstances.

Do you come on site?

We work remotely by default. Almost everything a modern cloud setup needs can be done remotely, and it’s quicker for you. On-site work, such as an office move or meeting-room equipment, can be scoped and quoted separately.

Can you get us Cyber Essentials?

We set every client up to the Cyber Essentials controls as standard, and we can prepare you for certification. The certification itself is awarded by an independent certification body, and preparing the yearly assessment is quoted separately from the monthly fee.

How Cyber Essentials works
Do you work with Google Workspace as well as Microsoft 365?

Yes. Our standard setup is built on Microsoft 365, and we also support Google Workspace, including alongside Microsoft 365. If you’re on Google Workspace and weighing a move, a Technology Review is the place to talk it through.

We still have a server in the office. Can you help?

If you’re ready to move to the cloud, yes: moving you onto Microsoft 365 is part of how we set you up. If you need to keep on-premises servers for the long term, we’re probably not the right fit, and we’d rather say so now.

How is it priced?

A monthly fee per user and per device, with lower rates as you grow, plus a fixed price for the initial setup or migration. We quote once we understand your setup.
